THE B (last night at bedtime): "Daddy, will you sing me a song?"
ME (a little puzzled): "But I just sang Twinkle Twinkle."
Short pause for contemplation.
THE B (looking rather confused): "Could you sing it again for me?"
ME: "I don't think so, no."
There followed a brief silence as he thought his options through.
THE B (best bargaining face on): "I'll listen this time . . . ."
